My update on The Cardi commission piece

I have made so much progress with regards to The Cardi Commission. A commission is what the art world in general for a custom ordered piece or work of art no matter the form it takes. Crochet and Pen Turning are no exception to this rule because both are a form of art. I am nearing the end of the current project and will soon be making things from crochet and pen turning to sell so stay tuned. I have plans to get some new pen blanks and some Touch Stylus Twist Pen kits to get going since I can get them easier and faster. The rest will come in later. The store closings for Jo-ann’s threw the current project into a whole different territory. The one word crochet artists fear most is the word “discontinued” because if youre in the middle of a project and it’s not finished and one of the yarn colors youre using gets discontinued then you cant get anymore of that color if you run out and need more. What you have is all that’s left. With Jo-ann’s going out of business I have to treat the Big Twist brand of yarn the same way because they are clearing out their warehouses and there’s no telling if there is more of any one color I am using in there and no telling if it will be in the store when I can finally get down to the store to look. I work full time and do the crochet as a transitional object. It helps me stay calm and helps with my anxiety, stress and I feel like a have a sense of purpose of sorts,. The byproduct of that crochet therapy is what I make and sell to you. I take great pride in my work and craftsmanship. I also want to help those with PTSD and other anxiety disorders find comfort or a way to deal with their anxiety and stress like I have. I just want to help in whatever way I can. For now, I just need to finish the current commission and prepare to make some beautiful pens.
